Georgetown, Guyana – (December 18, 2016) President David Granger and First Lady, Mrs. Sandra Granger, this evening, attended the ‘National Festival of Carols and Lessons’, which was held at the D’urban Park to usher in the Christmas season.
The evening featured traditional dances and verses and a re-enactment of the Biblical Story relating to the Birth of Christ.
The event was also attended by Speaker of the National Assembly, Dr. Barton Scotland and his family, Minister of State, Mr. Joseph Harmon, Minister of Social Cohesion, Ms. Amna Ally, Minister of Social Protection, Ms. Volda Lawrence, Minister within the Ministry of Education, Ms. Nicolette Henry, Minister within the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ms. Simona Broomes and Vice Chancellor of the University of Guyana, Professor Ivelaw Griffith.
