Georgetown, Guyana – (December 19, 2016) A six member military delegation from the Chinese Peoples’ Liberation Army (PLA), this evening, paid a courtesy call on President David Granger. Senior Colonel Lu Zhonglin led the team. The other members of the delegation included: Senior Colonel Zhang Yanke, Senior Colonel Zhang Ying, Colonel Zhao Cheng and Lieutenant Colonel Chen Xiao.
This morning, the delegation signed a Military Aid Gratis agreement between the Guyana Defence Force and the PLA for the provision of non-lethal military aid.
The delegation is led by Senior Colonel Lu Zhonglin, who presented President Granger with a token of appreciation after the meeting.
President Granger also presented the delegation with military literature and signed the books upon request by members of the delegation
