Georgetown, Guyana – (September 03, 2015) Minister of State, Joseph Harmon today met with executives from Caribbean Airlines Limited (CAL) and informed them that with the expansion of the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) at Timehri, the Government will be looking forward to more flights and better quality service from the airline company.
The visiting team included Chief Executive Officer Michael DiLollo, Head of Corporate Communications Dionne Ligoure, Vice President of Commercial Operations and Customer Service, George Reeleder, Area Manager for South America, Roy Ferguson and Sales Executive for Guyana and Suriname, Dion Inniss.
Minister Harmon said that despite the challenges, CAL has provided an invaluable service to Guyana and said that as the country gets ready to celebrate its 50th Independence anniversary next year, it is anticipating a large influx of visitors, which could make air travel a bit challenging.
However, CEO DiLollo assured that CAL is committed to, and will make arrangements to facilitate and accommodate the demands of 2016, which is expected to be a peak year of travel to Guyana.
He also informed the Minister that the carrier’s operation in Guyana has recorded an increase in ‘on-time’ performance. He also informed that changes have been made at the airline which has created vacancies to accommodate about 40 persons here in Guyana.
