Georgetown, Guyana – (June 29, 2018) Conservation International (CI) is keen to support Guyana’s Green State Development Strategy. This message was conveyed by the President of Conservation International, Dr. Jennifer Morris during a meeting she held with President David Granger, on the sidelines of the Sixth Assembly of the Global Environmental Facility which was held this week in Da Nang, Vietnam.
President Granger and the CI President also discussed issues of renewable energy development, conservation, protection of biodiversity and the Global Environmental Facility backed GOLD – Global Opportunities for Long-term Development in the Artisanal Small Gold Mining Sector. This programme is being implemented with support from CI.
President Granger was accompanied to the meeting by Mr. Kemraj Parsram, Acting Director of the Global Environment Facility and Ms. Diana Fernandes, Technical Officer of the Department of Energy.
