Georgetown, Guyana – (April 27, 2018) First Lady, Mrs. Sandra Granger, yesterday, met with former President of the Rotary Club of Covington, Georgia, USA, Mr. Patrick Carmichael, who now holds the portfolio for the development of international relationships and Coordinator of the Women Across Differences, Ms. Clonel Samuels-Boston to discuss possible areas of collaboration. The courtesy call was held at the Office of the First Lady at State House.
The First Lady said that the two organisations undertake similar projects and are interested in collaborating.
In and invited comment, Mr. Carmichael said his Club is particularly interested in identifying areas of potential partnership with the local Rotary clubs and initiatives implemented by the Office of the First Lady. “We would like to have a working relationship with the rotary clubs here. She [The First Lady] has a fantastic number of great projects in mind and we would like to participate in that….We hope to build a relation between our clubs and better relations with Rotary here in Guyana,” he said.
