Georgetown, Guyana – (June 7, 2017) First Lady, Mrs. Sandra Granger, today, held an opening ceremony to mark the commencement of Grade two chef’s training course for her staff at State House, Guyana.
The course, which is a collaborative effort between the Office of the First Lady and the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), is focused in the areas of basic food and nutrition, accurate composing of a full course meal, table etiquette, hospitality, and the use of the multi-mix principles.
In addressing the participants, the First Lady said, “I know you will enjoy it [and] your skills will increase [because] you never know where your talents lie and I hope that by the end of this, each of you will take the skills that you learn here and move forward with it. I get my happiness out of seeing people wanting to learn and I’m very happy that all of you want to come and learn something else apart from what your current skills are.”
Mrs. Granger further thanked the GDF for affording her the opportunity to make this course available. The course is being facilitated by Warrant Officer Weslyn Boodie – Blades and is expected to last until Mid-July.
