Georgetown, Guyana – (February 4, 2016) First Lady, Mrs. Sandra Granger, this afternoon, met with Executive Director of Youth Challenge Guyana (YCG), Mr. Dmitri Nicholson and Board member Mrs. Oneka Archer-Caulder to discuss possible areas for collaboration, at her State House office.
Mr. Nicholson, in an invited comment, said that the meeting was organised with the aim of finding common ground for collaboration between the non-profit organisation and the Office of the First Lady.
“The meeting was an exploratory one to see how Youth Challenge Guyana can… support and work with the First Lady’s office. From the meeting, we were able to garner a great deal of knowledge about the kinds of projects the First Lady’s office is doing while sharing the work that YCG has been doing. We do look forward to future opportunities where we will be able to collaborate closer with the First Lady’s office,” he said.
Youth Challenge Guyana is a non-governmental organisation that “creates opportunities for youth and communities to effect positive local social change, strengthened by global partnerships.” YCG has partnered with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), other foreign agencies, foundations and corporations to design and implement programmes that meet the needs of underprivileged youth with the goal of helping them to realise their potential.
