Georgetown, Guyana – (April 26, 2018) First Lady, Mrs. Sandra Granger, last evening, said that the theme of the Freedom Life Ministries’ Women’s Conference, “Daughters of Destiny Arise” is a call to action for women. Mrs. Granger made these remarks in her feature address at the opening of the “Women, Stronger than their Struggles” Fifth Annual Women’s Conference, an activity, which is aimed at empowering women to rise above their challenges. The ceremony was held at the Church’s headquarters in Princes and Lyng Streets, Georgetown.
First Lady Mrs. Granger, who is addressing conference for the third consecutive year said that she was honored and buoyed to have the opportunity, once again, to fellowship with the women present. She called on them to rely on their faith and to believe in themselves. “Some of us confine ourselves by thinking we are too poor; too uneducated, too low down on the social order, and so on. That is a cop-out. The will of God will not take you where the grace of God cannot keep you,” she said.
Mrs. Granger also said that every woman is important and can play a vital role in the fulfillment of her destiny. She encouraged the participants of the conference to arise and model themselves after the women in the holy book, noting that there are lessons to be learnt from these women and their stories “Many of us believe that there is nothing remarkable about us, that we are just ordinary women doing tasks, which women are supposed to do… Some of us have to go to work and deal with demanding bosses… our relatives and friends do not appreciate us or all the things that we do for them. Daughters of Destiny Arise, God has a plan for each one of us,” she said.
Freedom Life Ministries, Pastor Delight Ogle-Uwagboe, in welcoming the participants of the Conference, said that they are a part of a powerful army of women and the event serves as a catalyst for fulfilling a divine purpose and is expected, in future years, to become a national event. “God has been merciful in bringing us this far and it is through his unfailing grace this annual Conference has enjoyed the tremendous success it has had during the last four years… This year’s theme is timely and a prophetic call to action for us as women to arise and reclaim our God-given destiny,” she said, adding that the time for women to be complacent is over.
The four-day Conference being held from April 25-28 boasts guest speakers Dr. Darlene Day and Prophetess Kelly Crews of the USA; and Pastor Loraine Johnson, Pastor Michelle Sobers and Pastor Pamela O’Donoghue of Guyana and saw the attendance of congregation members from several branches of the Freedom Life Ministries locally, regionally and internationally.
