Georgetown, Guyana – (May 18, 2016) President David Granger, today, met with Georgetown Mayor, Mrs. Patricia Chase-Green and Town Clerk, Mr. Royston King at the Ministry of the Presidency to discuss the work of the Municipality.
The Head of State assured them of his Administration’s support for the work of the Council but made it clear that Central Government will not intrude in its affairs.
He also reiterated that the Government, the regional administrations, and the municipalities must work in tandem in order to better serve citizens, noting that when there is conflict among those arms, it is the people who suffer.
