Georgetown, Guyana – (March 23, 2016) President David Granger and Minister of Social Cohesion, Ms. Amna Ally, today, distributed kites to children in Georgetown and along the East Coast Demerara in preparation for the upcoming Easter celebration.
The distribution started at the Buxton Gas Station tarmac, where the Head of State spoke about the significance of Easter.
Dozens of eager children swarmed around the President, upon his arrival at the Good Hope-Lusignan Learning Centre. There he reaffirmed his Administration’s commitment to supporting the Centre since it prioritises education, an important area on his Government’s agenda.
The President also visited the communities of Roxanne Burnham Gardens and Riverview, Ruimveldt where, apart from distributing kites to the children, he also interacted with residents. Easter will be celebrated in Guyana on March 27.
