As the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, which is also commonly known as the Brickdam Cathedral, today celebrated its 100th anniversary, with a grand mass, the congregation was joined by, First Lady Mrs. Sandra Granger, Prime Minister Moses Nagamoottoo and his wife Seeta Nagamootoo. The centenary mass is the fifth in a series of events planned in observance of the 100th anniversary which is being held under the theme “Becoming living stones”. On August 15, 1951, Bishop C.T Galton laid the foundation stone for the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception after the first structure which housed the Cathedral was destroyed by fire in 1913.
