Georgetown, Guyana – (December 4, 2016) Guyana recently participated in the Regional Initiative for Latin America and the Caribbean Free of Child Labour meeting, held in Fortaleza, Brazil.
Cabinet approved the attendance of Mr. Vickram Mohabir, Senior Guidance and Counselling Officer, Ministry of Education at the sessions, which were held from November 28 – December 2, 2016.
The meeting was co-organised by the International Labour Organisation and the Brazilian Co-operation Agency and was convened to identify joint action between the Education and Labour sectors of participating countries, to advance efforts to reduce the incidence of child labour and protect forms of labour permitted for adolescents.
