Georgetown, Guyana – (June 9, 2016) Major Kester Craig, Deputy Director General of the Civil Defence Commission attended the First Meeting of Ministers and High Level Authorities on the Implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, which opened on June 8 and ended today in Asuncion, Paraguay.
The meeting provided a forum for the initiation of a joint effort to address the disaster risks vulnerability in the Americas and focused on planning a way forward in advancing the implementation of the priorities identified within the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.
Costs for attendance at the Meeting were fully funded by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR).
