Georgetown, Guyana – (April 29, 2016) Cabinet has granted its approval for Guyana to participate in the Internship programme hosted by the agency for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America and the Caribbean in Mexico from July 11 to December 9, 2016.

The Secretariat of the Agency for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America and the Caribbean (OPANAL) has extended the invitation to Guyana.

Ms. Tabitha Barnwell, a Research officer has been identified as Guyana’s participant in the programme.
The programme is intended to provide on-the-job training opportunities for young diplomats and graduate or post graduate students from the Caribbean states in International Relations, International Law and Political Sciences.

OPANAL will cover the cost of return airfare and will provide a monthly allowance of US$1000 to interns.
