Georgetown, Guyana – (February 17, 2016) First Lady, Mrs. Sandra Granger, earlier today, met with Chief of Party, Advancing Partners and Communities – Guyana, Ms. Folami Harris to explore possible areas of collaboration. Ms. Harris, along with Communications Officer, Ms. Theresa Campbell, met with Mrs. Granger at her State House office.
In an invited comment, Ms. Harris told the Ministry of the Presidency that during the interactions with the First Lady they identified some mutual areas of interest. “There were intersections between the work that APC does and the interest that the First Lady has for Guyana,” Ms. Harris said.

She added that the Organisation is encouraged by the work of the Office of the First Lady, specifically in the areas of community mobilisation, community empowerment as well as the welfare of children and women.
Advancing Partners and Communities provides technical assistance to improve the structures and operation framework of grant recipients, enhance efficiency of service delivery and strengthen partnerships among all stakeholders. The organisation focuses on the development and implementation of guidelines and standard operating procedures for the Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections, HIV Testing and Counselling, Home-Based Care, Orphans and Vulnerable Children and Positive Health and Dignity and other health services for persons living with HIV/AIDS.
