Georgetown, Guyana – (September 7, 2015) A group of Nurse Anesthetists, who recently completed training at the Georgetown Public Hospital, earlier today, met with President David Granger. Also present at the meeting was Minister of Public Health; Dr. George Norton.
The group had requested a meeting with the Head of State seeking his intervention on matters related to placement and appointments. Only recently, the group of registered nurses from different hospitals around the country, concluded the two and half year training programme. However, there were no vacant posts for their new found skills.
The President has given a commitment that the matter will be addressed by Minister of State, Joseph Harmon, who has responsibility for the Public Service Department.
